Notes At the time of his marriage to Ann Griffiths, was living at 73 Granby Street, Lambeth (and so was she). The marriage certificate shows him as Warehouseman and that he was aged 21 or more ("full age"). In 1841 living in St Mary Magdalene Parish, Bermondsey. In 1851 census was living at 9 Back Street, Vauxhall, London. He was aged 38 and was a carman(?) living with his second wife, Vashti, whom he had married by December 1846. In 1861 census, living with second wife and sons James (from first marriage) and Henry and Hannah (from second marriage). Said to be a "Rop Porter"? And living at 26 Weston Street, St Olave, Bermondsey. Later, was manager of a Seed Warehouse.
