Notes Christened on 26/10/1834 at the Ebeneezer Independent Chapel, Uppingham, Rutland. In 1841 census he was living with two brothers (William and Stephen) and sister (Elizabeth). There are no parents there, so they may have died before June 1841. In 1851 census he was living with his sister Mary in East Bond Street, Leicester and was a joiner. In 1861 was living at 15½ Belgrave Gate, Leicester, working as a cabinet maker employing 2 men and with a household servant. In 1871 living in the same home, but was an auctioneer and cabinet maker and has four more children. Upholsterer on his daughter's marriage certificate (1882). In 1891 census he was "living on own means" and was aged 61 and living at 33 Cedar Road, Leicester with his wife and 4 children. He was at the same address in 1901.
