He was recorded as an engine driver on his marriage certificate, but later occupations were labourer and bricklayer. In the 1871 census was living at 67 Chalton Street, St Pancras, with his wife and children. He was a labourer and was noted as having been born in Bethnal Green. In the 1881 census he was 41 and living with his wife Caroline (40) and five children and was living at 101 Chalton Street. His name is stated as William, so this might the name by which he was commonly known.. Possibly in the St Pancras workhouse in 1901 census and then died in second quarter of 1905. This would fit in with his wife's death certificate, showing that she was the widow of William Munday. The workhouse and the infirmary, where Caroline was in 1901 are on the same site.
