Notes Birth date is actually his baptism date, in Crondall. In 1841 was living in Chapple Street, Basingstoke (probably the present Chapel Hill, near the station). He was a lodger and the rest of his family remained in Crondall. A Railway Labourer, according to the 1881 census, when he was a widower, aged 66 and living at 21 Bunyan Place, West Side, Basingstoke. Died April, May, June 1900 and it says he was 87 so slight descrepancy here..
