Notes On visiting Axminster we found the grave of Thomas Sprague, who was the son of this Joseph Sprague. The gravestone read: "In loving memory of Thomas Sprague, who died August 24th 1901, aged 44. Also of his two sons, Reginald, aged 25 and Leslie, aged 23, who were both killed in Mesopotamia February 3rd, 1917." The names of these two brothers also appear on the War Memorials both inside and outside Axminster church.
