Notes Born 1763 in Yorkshire. Joiner and cabinet maker. Records suggest that he married a Jane in 1789 in Sheffield when he was 25 and we assume that Jane died before 1800 when he married Ann Sellers. In 1822 is to be found in a Directory of Sheffield, living and working as a Cabinet Maker in the Hill Foot area - see "Other File" link. The nxt eariler directory (1787) does not list him. In 1841 is living in Hill Foot, Sheffield, was aged 75 (rounded down) and was a Trunk Maker. He was living very close (same census page) as Samuel Rawson. Burial records of St Philip's Church found in Sheffield Archives shows he was buried on 30th March 1851, aged 88¼. This would indicate he was born in late December 1762 or in early January 1763.
