Notes Christened on 20th June 1802 in the "Scotland and South And Bow Streets Methodist New Chapel, Sheffield". Carpenter, Builder and Contractor. In 1841 census was living at Hill Foot, Sheffield with his family. He was a builder. In 1851 census is living at Hill Foot, Sheffield. He was aged 47 and was a Carpenter and Builder employing 2 men. He earned contracts to build a board school and to maintain a barracks and built highways; he also seemed to run a bit of a second-hand business on the side. He was sued at least twice for not having paid his sub-contractors. Age does not quite fit with the birth date from FamilySearch.com of 01/06/1802. In 1861 census was aged 58 which gives a birth year of 1802/3.
