Notes In 1851 census was aged 23 and living with parents and family in Hill Foot, Sheffield, and was a Merchant's clerk. Married Susanna. Started work as a teacher but later joined firm of John Wilson & Son. In 1872 joined his brother F. Percy Rawson in 'Rawson Brothers', cutlery manufacturers. Was the first chairman of the Sheffield Evening Schools Association and a member of the Liberation Society. Connected strongly with the Portmahon Baptist chapel in Sheffield. Was keen on photography, founding the Sheffield Photographic Society. Was a member of the band of Passive Resisters in Sheffield.
