Notes b. 1893 Address at birth - 31, Coltswood Road, Coatbridge. By 1901 Census lived at 9 Ronald Street, Coatbridge. Book on Coatbridge men in World War I says he was a Private in 9th Battalion of the Black Watch. Service No S/4298. Died of wounds on 28th June 1916. Grave is in the Vermelles British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. Before joining up he was a locomotive driver at Kipp's works. The Coatbridge Leader of Saturday 8th July 1916 has this short article: "Died from Wounds. Official information has been received in Coatbridge that Private George Arnott, of the Black Watch, 77 Burnbank Road, has died from wounds on 28th June. Private Arnott was unmarried."
