Notes Born about 1871 and is shown as a member of the family living at Heatherstalks, Avonbridge. In 1891 census, was a lodger at 31 Coltswood Road, Coatbridge, living with the Donalds, whose daughter he later married and continued to live at that address. By 1901 Census he lived at 9 Ronald Street, Coatbridge though he does not appear on the census return (possibly he was absent on the night in question). He was a Locomotive Fireman, but by the time of Sarah's (wife's) death in 1906 he was a locomotive driver. After the death of his mother-in-law (Janet Buchanan) his father-in-law (Robert Donald) came to live with him at 89 Burnbank Street, Coatbridge. The record of his son George Buchanan Arnott, in the CWGC website shows that John and Sarah then lived at Braefoot, Whitburn. Died of Pneumonia at his home in Whitburn with his son John present. He had married a second time to Isabella Lennox, after the death of Sarah.
