Notes Born at Greyrigg, Muiravonside. Aged 10 in 1881 census, so born about 1871. Also living at Heatherstalks in 1891 census, age 20 and a labourer. Before joining up he was a miner at Bathgate. Book of Coatbridge men in World War I says he was in the 11th Battalion of the Highland Light Infantry and was killed in action on 25th September 1915. Service No 19632. Grave is in the Loos Memorial Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.
