Notes Christened on 30/08/1818 in Manchester, with Father George and mother Charlotte. Nancy Taylor was his second wife as he is noted as being a widower on his marriage certificate. Noted too as a Weaver, living at Shudehill (central Manchester). Was an Overlooker according to his daughter's Marriage Certificate. His marriage was in Collegiate Parish Church, Manchester (later to become the cathedral). The Parish of Manchester was very large and due to a dispute between the Coll. Church and the rest of the parish, two fees were payable if a wedding took place anywhere other than the Coll. Church. Thus prior to 1847, most marriages took place in the Collegiate Church. Death in 1861 possible - was not alive in 1861 census.
