Notes Lived at John's Row when he was married. On son's Marriage Certificate as a Copperplate worker. In 1841 census is living at 52 Bunhill Row, St Luke's, Finsbury and was a labourer. In the house too was Elizabeth Ward aged 9 who must have been his younger sister. In 1851 census was aged 35 and living at 4 Albert Place, St Leonard's, Shoreditch and was a Copper Plate Finisher. In 1861, lived at 35 Crompton Street. In 1871 census is living at 6 Grindow Buildings (?) with wife Mary (Scally) and son John. He was aged 55 and was a Copper Plate Polisher, out of employment. He was born in "Ireland, Connaught". Also living or staying here was daughter Ellen (age 23 and married name Irish (?)) and granddaughter Elizabeth Irish, aged 3 months. In 1881 census was aged 60 (but this must be an error since 1871 and marriage cert do match) and living at 10 Phipp Street, London with his wife Mary. He was a Copper Steel Plate Finisher. His marriage certificate shows him as being "of full age" (21 or more) and since the rest of that certificate fits well, it seems likely that the 1881 census enumerator transposed Peter's and Mary's ages. This would make him 63 and thus born in 1817/18, which would mean he was 21 when he married.
