In 1891 census is living at 16 White Rock Place with his mother and siblings, is aged 19 and is a clerk. In 1901 census is shown as a Collector of Water Rates and was living at Lynton, Southview Road, Southwick. In 1911 census is living at "St Fagans" Southwick; this refers to the house on the west side of the Green. Moved to Adur Terrace after his father died and later moved to 67 The Green. In 1921 living at 67 The Green and still a Water Rates Collector. Bought 8 Roman Road when new in 1934.
