Notes In 1841 was recorded as Jean Gardner, living at Rumsaide, Miuravonside, aged 16 and working as a farm hand. In 1851 census she is aged 25 and living in Slammanan Village with her husband and children. In 1861 is living with her husband and family in Avonbridge. In 1881 census,she is living in the Falkirk Road, Slamannan. She is aged 56 and is head of the household, following the death of her husband. At that time she was living with all her children (except Janet) and with John Arnot, age 7. He is grandson and is the illegitimate son of John Arnot (510) and Christiine Gilchrist. In 1891, living in Slammanan with John Arnot (as above, aged 18) and her daughter Elizabeth. In 1901, living in Gardner's Buildings, Avonbridge, with John Arnot (as above, aged 27) and Christina Main, a visitor, aged 50. On her death certificate it is reported that she died "between 7 and 8pm at Avonbridge in the burn Avon on the East side of said bridge".
